    REALIMITEIT

Desired goals can be achieved and be sustainable only when they exist and remain within the natural boundaries of functionality which are dependent on cognition, i.e. interaction with environment by a continuous exchange of information. We conclude that the condition for living organisms and sustainable organisations is learning and adaptation. Non learning, refusing to allow information, means such organisations and organisms are dying because they stopped communicating.

We are now able to predict if an organisation or ideology is stable and sustainable or not. This creates exciting new opportunities. Unstable or unsustainable practices can be phased out and replaced. We use the following two criteria to test Realimiteit:

a. Negative Interdependence:
an economic or industrial goal, a personal ambition or political ideology can only be achieved for some, but at the cost of others: people, the environment, society, ecological balance, etc. The protection of the environment, social cohesion, and human and non-human life are secondary objectives. This is unsustainable, but is the principal foundation of our current linear economy.

b. Positive Interdependence:
an economic, industrial goal; personal ambition or political ideology can be achieved for everyone. Protection of the environment, social cohesion and human and non-human life are the principal, central and shared objectives. This is sustainable and in fact would be creating millions of jobs as negative interdependent processes, industries or policies can be phased out and replaced by positive ones.
